The client requested year-round lush privacy, a bold pallet and playful, charming elegance. The Garden Guru’s vision for exotic sanctuary in Vancouver came alive with this design as she has a passion for the hot, sultry look of tropical plants, intoxicating fragrance and intriguing bright blossoms.

To achieve the desired appeal, the Garden Guru used extra large Terrazzo Fibreglass planters in a variety of shapes and sizes to create layers for privacy and to separate the dining space from the relaxation area.

Each privacy planter is a miniature wild, bold, wonderful, jungle planted with Black Bamboo, Orange Canna Lily, Cyprus Papyrus with lavender-coloured Petunia. Giant New Zealand flax mixed with Geraniums and Chartreuse potato vines divide the BBQ dining area from the fire pit relaxation space. Cone Topiary Privets are placed at the corners for definition; they also added evergreen playful texture and delightful fragrance.

Fragrance is an essential ingredient in the garden experience; it moves your emotions and awakens your senses. This garden features large Japanese Snowball trees, sweet smelling Daphne, calming lavenders, spicy hibiscus and aromatic Gardenia. It is filled with mixed Heucheras and broad leaf ferns. The lush exotic jungle beauty is enhanced by sexy Jasmine, passion fruit vine and Bougainvillaea that are all trailing plant that grow freely and attract birds, butterflies and pollinators, all of which bring sounds of cheerfulness. Whimsical ornamental dragons, a happy Buddha and gentle wind chimes complete this eye-popping paradise in the sky.
